The “I Finally Finished It (IFFI!)” Project?

What is the IFFI! Project you ask?

We all have UFOs (Un Finished Objects) taking up space and keeping us from starting new projects. Let's face it they can sap us of our creative energy! I hear it so often from customers: "Oh I can't start anything new. . . I have too many UFO's" Well, Picket Fence Fabrics is offering you an incentive to finish those projects so that you can finally renew your creative energy and move on to something new!

Around here UFOs, when complete, are called IFFI!s (I finally finished it!) I have been using a special label for these projects and I am always asked where I got the label. Well, now you too can have this special label!

Quilters everywhere are invited to participate in the IFFI! Project. When you complete a UFO, bring it in to the shop for an official IFFI! designation, ballot and photo shoot for our website. If you don't live close to the shop, electronic images will be accepted (email me for details beforehand). Your name will be entered into a draw for Picket Fence Fabric fabric bundles to be given away December 1st. Participants in the IFFI! Project will receive an official hand-stamped IFFI! quilt label.

To qualify for an IFFI! designation, draw ballot and an official hand-stamped label:

1. The UFO(s) you complete and enter must to be older than one year. Sometimes the fabrics used are timely and prove how old a project is. A fabric receipt or class supply list with the date would also help you identify the date you started the UFO-turned-IFFI! and qualify you for the IFFI! Project.

2. The UFO has to have been started already, with some sewing already completed on the project. You are on your Quilters' Honour here. But why would anyone start another UFO to qualify? Apart from the backing, too much new fabric in the quilt top may disqualify the project as an IFFI! Be careful what you add.

3. The quilt must be completely quilted, embellished, and bound for photo.

4. Your permission must be given to have your completed IFFI! posted on our website. You may remain anonymous on the web posting if you wish but web postings of IFFI's will include maker's initials, the date the project was started (an approximation will do) and the completion date. Credit to quilt designer or workshop instructor must also be provided.

Names of draw winners will be posted after January 1, 2008 on this website.

The winners of the 2007 IFFI! draw are Vivian Alquire and Jane Guthrie.
